Clinical case · 05
A wide mandibular molar space was restored with a single implant, followed by additional treatment of two maxillary posterior sites.
Patient and presentation
A 35-year-old patient requested restoration of a lower-right posterior tooth that had been missing for more than four months.
The soft tissue was healthy, while tooth 47 was tilted and carious. The edentulous width was approximately 14 mm, and an elongated opposing tooth reduced the occlusal space.
Planning
Imaging showed acceptable bone morphology at site 46. The available bone was recorded as approximately 12.5 mm in height and 7.5 mm in width.
After discussion, the plan prioritized restoration of occlusal function with a single implant at 46.
Surgical and restorative treatment
The osteotomy was prepared step by step and a BL.RC4110 implant (Ø4.1 × 10 mm) was placed with good stability. A healing abutment was connected before closure.
At four months, the surrounding soft tissue was healing well. A BL.MA.RC4625 straight abutment and zirconia all-ceramic crown were selected, followed by occlusal adjustment.
Follow-up
The patient reported high satisfaction with the restoration and subsequently requested rehabilitation of sites 25 and 26.
At one year after restoration, the bone interface was stable and the peri-implant condition was reported as good.
Functional single-molar restoration with stable one-year findings and subsequent extension of treatment to additional missing teeth.
